When your family changes, the law should not be the hardest part.

Premier Law Corporation acts for people across the Lower Mainland in two things above all: family matters, from separation agreements and divorce to parenting, support and property division, and civil disputes, from unpaid debts and foreclosure to construction, builders liens and property. We also prepare the wills and powers of attorney that keep those decisions in your hands later. The first consultation is free, so you can find out where you stand before you spend anything.

Where to begin

Most people who contact us have never hired a lawyer before

When a family changes

Do I have to move out? Who has the children this weekend? Will my pension be split? Those questions have answers: the Family Law Act and the Divorce Act set out how parenting is decided, how support is calculated and how property is divided.

Family law

When a dispute will not settle

An invoice nobody will pay, a mortgage in default and a petition on the kitchen table, a contractor who left the job, a lien registered against your title. The first question is never how to sue. It is what the contract and the title actually say, what the claim is worth, and whether pursuing it makes sense. Some of this runs on deadlines measured in days, so when you ask matters as much as what you ask.

Civil litigation

When you are planning ahead

A will decides who inherits and who administers your estate. A power of attorney says who can deal with your money if you cannot. Without them British Columbia decides for you, and your family may have to go to court to act on your behalf.

Wills & powers of attorney

Either way, we will tell you what the law means for you, what a realistic result looks like and what it will take to get there. If an agreement serves you better than a hearing, we will say so. If it does not, we are ready to go to court.

Our approach

What working with us looks like

Five commitments that shape every file, whether it settles in a few weeks or runs through to trial.

More about how we work
  1. 01

    A free first consultation

Come in and tell us what has happened. The first consultation is free, it takes place at our Surrey office, and there is no pressure to hire the firm at the end of it.

  2. 02

An honest assessment at that first meeting

You will leave knowing what the law says about your circumstances and which options are realistic. If the outcome you want is unlikely, you will hear that at the start rather than months into a file.

  3. 03

Settlement first, court when it is needed

Most disputes settle, and an agreement you helped shape usually works better than one imposed by a judge. When the other side will not negotiate in good faith, we prepare for court and tell you early enough to plan for it.

  4. 04

    Help sized to your budget

Where it suits your situation, we can act on a limited-scope basis, handling specific steps such as drafting an agreement or preparing you for a court appearance rather than the whole file.

  5. 05

    Plain language, and your language

We explain the law without jargon, and we serve clients in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Getting started

How it starts

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Send a short request through the website, message us on WhatsApp, or call the office. Tell us briefly what has happened and who else is involved, so we can run a conflict check.

  2. 02

Meet a lawyer, free of charge

Your first consultation is free and takes place at our Surrey office. Bring any documents you have, even if the pile is incomplete.

  3. 03

    Decide what happens next

You will leave knowing the main legal issues in your matter, the options open to you and what each one involves. There is no obligation to go further.
