Serving clients in Langley, BC

We do not have an office in Langley. Langley clients meet with us at our Surrey office, a short drive west, and the first consultation is free.

Langley is really two municipalities, the City of Langley and the Township of Langley, with a mix of suburban neighbourhoods and rural acreages in areas such as Brookswood, Walnut Grove, Willoughby and Fort Langley.

Courts that hear Langley matters

  • Langley files are commonly heard at Surrey Provincial Court, with Supreme Court proceedings at the New Westminster Law Courts.
  • Civil Resolution Tribunal (online): small claims up to $5,000 and most strata disputes.

Where Langley matters are heard, and how to reach us

Langley has no courthouse of its own. Provincial Court family matters and small claims are commonly heard at Surrey Provincial Court on 57 Avenue, and Supreme Court proceedings, including divorce, family property and foreclosure, are filed at the New Westminster Law Courts. Our office is a straight run west along Fraser Highway or Highway 1 from Willoughby and Walnut Grove, roughly 25 minutes outside rush hour, with parking behind the building. Langley clients come to us for family law, civil litigation and wills and powers of attorney.

Acreages and rural property

Rural properties in the Township can include land in the Agricultural Land Reserve, outbuildings and home-based businesses. Each affects how property is valued and divided after separation.

Parenting schedules across a spread-out region

Families in Willoughby and Walnut Grove often have children at schools near one parent’s home and activities near the other’s. A parenting schedule that accounts for real commute times prevents a great deal of later conflict.
